Record Breaking Heat Wave

I have been reading and watching the news lately about the sweltering heat wave many areas of Canada and the US have been experiencing.

I personally love the summer months but I'm definitely not looking forward to the heat and humidity. We have been very fortunate in Toronto. Instead of living through the heat, we have been getting a lot of rain and cool breezes. I wish I had a magic wane so I could share it with those who need it most.

Today the temperature went up to 27 degrees celcius but I'm not complaining. Compared to British Columbia's record breaking 33.8 degrees celcius, 27 is cool. I don't mind working in the rain or getting wet either :))

I'm hoping that the cool rains and gentle breezes reach all of you experiencing this heat wave and I hope things have cooled down a wee-bitty for DJan, one of my blogger friends. Stay cool everybody. This time of extremes will pass!

Remember to stay hydrated and drink plenty of water. Just think, in a few short months we'll be bundling up to stay warm in the snow.

  1. I think maybe we should drive up to BC if their record breaking temps are 33.8, right now it's 37 Celsius here in SE Washington state. We have a heat advisory for the weekend. The only good part is we don't have the humidity that DJan is getting in NW Washington.

It really isn't all that bad we are beginning to get acclimated to the temps in this part of the country.

  2. You very sweet person, you! Thank you for looking out for me through your thoughts. Well, just to put your mind at ease, I was hiking in the mountains today and got totally drenched and even cold and then had a hailstorm finish the job. When I got home down here in Bellingham, the temps are more than ten degrees cooler than yesterday! Yes!

And SQ, the humidity is definitely the problem, not the heat. But today it feels almost normal again. I hope you get some of the coolness that is on the way here.

  3. Susan, you are such a warm and generous person, you are always concern of your friend's situation.

I live in country where humidity is a normal thing, we are so used to hot temperatures, and we can't do anything but take a plunge in the beach to keep us cool, drink lots of cold drinks to quench our thirst, but what I like most is when guys takes their shirt off, when they start to sweat, haha.

  4. Susan, I think you meant 38 Celcius in BC. I got some friends in Vancouver who are really hating the heat wave right now :)
